Sally Gillard is an Orton Gillingham Trained Literacy Therapist who completed her training with the Hawaiian based expert, Ron Yoshimoto, at Bentleigh West Primary in January 2019. The Orton Gillingham Approach is a direct, explicit, multisensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easily to individuals. Orton-Gillingham (OG) practitioners design lessons and materials to work with students at the level they present by pacing instruction and the introduction of new materials to their individual strengths and weaknesses.
Sally is also a qualified Integration Aide who taught small group Literacy Intervention at a local Melbourne primary school from 2018 until 2020.
Sally is married and the mother of 3 children ranging from 9-14 years of age. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in history. Her previous career had been as an Executive Assistant to Executive Director’s and their teams at KPMG and Macquarie Bank.
